Re: What's The Last Movie You Saw?

I marathoned the Original Star Trek series over the last few weeks. Last night I kinda sorta tuned into BBC America's Bondathon: saw Goldfinger and From Russia with Love. Classic Bond films.

Re: What's The Last Movie You Saw?

Saw the latest Alice in Wonderland. It wasn't bad, but I don't see myself rushing out to buy the dvd the day it's released. My bf said he thought the effects were too obviously cg, but I counter that Wonderland tends to have a feeling of unreality anyway, so it kinda works. Tried to see Shutter Isla...

Re: What's The Last Movie You Saw?

So... this prompts clarification. Did you enjoy Revenge of the Fallen, or did you think it was a good movie? Here's a hint, one is more forgivable than the other. I'd love to see a MST3K of Revenge of the Fallen. I enjoyed the film. I don't own it on dvd yet, but that will change eventually. I am w...

Re: What's The Last Movie You Saw?

Hey, I liked Revenge of the Fallen. Land of the Lost I refused to watch on general principle (I can't stand Will Ferrell, though I do give him props for funnyordie.com). Then again, I have a taste for cheesy films. MST3K, anyone?

Re: What's The Last Movie You Saw?

Granted, but I like the movie's ending better.

Re: What's The Last Movie You Saw?

I love The Princess Bride. The book was good, but I have to say that I like the movie better, in spite of Fred Savage. I recently saw the new Sherlock Holmes film. Taken altogether, it wasn't too bad, if not a good representation of the literary character. I think the key is to divorce it from the s...

Re: What's The Last Movie You Saw?

Saw the George C. Scott version of A Christmas Carol on AMC the other night. I think it's the first one I saw, so it tends to be near and dear to my heart.

Re: What's The Last Movie You Saw?

Watching TNT's annual broadcast of The Wizard of Oz. It's a fun film, but I do like the book(s) better.

Re: What's The Last Movie You Saw?

Regarding Heavy Metal:

The first one is excellent. Well done, and the soundtrack rocks. I just wish I could find the orchestral soundtrack.

2000 was ok, but not nearly as good as the first one. Then again, I'm biased.

Re: What's The Last Movie You Saw?

Sin City was one hell of a film. I've been meaning to pick up a copy on dvd for some time now, but for some reason it slips my mind whenever I'm actually out shopping. I heard that Mickey Rourke had some questions about Marv, and Miller answered them by going out and getting a t-shirt with Marv on i...

Re: What's The Last Movie You Saw?

Watched The Legend of Hell House last night. Good haunted house film. Low-budget, but I thought it was very well done.

Re: What's The Last Movie You Saw?

The flawed science isn't the only reason I don't care for 2012. The sheer predictability drives me nuts, too. It's the same reason I can't stand Wrong Turn. I like to be able to turn my brain off while I'm watching a movie, so I figure I should not see certain events coming a mile away. Hang on a m...

Re: What's The Last Movie You Saw?

Maybe you'll get your wish in the sequel. I was impressed by the film (my bf just bought the dvd) enough to see it 3 times in the theater. I didn't spot the tribble until the third time I saw it.

Re: What's The Last Movie You Saw?

Went to see 2012, and was not disappointed. I was able to start logging things to complain about within the first 5 minutes. While I may not insist on perfect science, there still needs to be a certain level of believability, which I thought was missing from the film. No doubt it's going to be box o...
