Re: Answers in Genesis Commercial

Wow! I find that incredible. Funnily enough one of my brothers is a recently converted Christian. And he's the better brother of the two. He seems happy with his new found beliefs but I would fall off my chair laughing if he ever came out with such nonsense. In fact, when I see him next I must quest...

Re: Answers in Genesis Commercial

Can I just ask you an honest question and I don't mean to sound naeive but I can't tell if you're joking or telling the truth? Are there really people in the US who believe people rode around on dinosaurs? Or are you lot just joking about? I know there are some who think the Earth is only a few thou...

Re: A Question from a Christian

[quote="swickstrum"] It seems to me that you are overly concerned with things that do not concern you. Let me ask you a question, please. If you do not care whether or not a person believes in God, and by God, I include the Son, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, then why do you insist on d...

Re: What's The Last Movie You Saw?

Watched an old film on tv the other night that is a great film.

An English film starring David Essex called 'Stardust'.

It's a follow on from the film 'That'll Be The Day' about a young man forming a band. 'Stardust' deals with him once stardom arrives.

Both films are well worth watching.

Re: "Little Britain" jumps the pond!

Little Britain USA was absolutely dire. A steaming pile of shit. Please tell me you lot didn't laugh at that.

Believe me the original series here in Gb got boring after 2 episodes. It's just the same joke repeated over and over and over. It's a con.

People are easily pleased.

Re: Eddie Izzard

Eddie has been top man here in England for many years but his last venture seemed to lack something.

He is a straight transvestite. He digs girls but likes to dress as one. I can't even begin to understand that but he doesn't give a shit and rightly so.

At his best he is a genius.

Re: What are you reading right now?

I am currently reading the biography of footballer (that's soccer player to some of you) Stan Collymore. Now I usually avoid sports biographys like swine flu as they are so inane but a friend insisted this one was different. Stan is famous here in England for being a decent footballer but also a man...

I added both of them to my Amazon wishlist after watching 'O Lucky Man'.

Mind you, my wishlist is so bloody big I'll end up getting them myself.

Re: What's The Last Movie You Saw?

I caught 'O Lucky Man' on the tv last night. Compelling viewing. Quite dated (70's) but a good film nonetheless. I'd recommend it. As it's part of a trilogy I shall now have to watch the other two which means I'll probably end up buying them as it may be years before they appear on the box. While I'...

Re: Worst book ever written..

By far the worst book ever written is 'Catcher in the Rye'. What a pile of pointless shit. Poor story, poorly written. If that passes for classic American literature then heaven help us all. There's a few hours of my life I'll never get back. And while we're at it, 'Chariots of the Gods'. Jeez, if y...

Re: The New Convert Thread - MAKE YOUR FIRST POST HERE

Hi all, zinc alloy here. My first post after visiting the FSM site for some time now. Not sure what to say until I have had a good trawl through what's on here. Happily I can get here from my work computer so more likely to be posting when I'm on nights which is one week every month. Being in Englan...
