Holmes in the original stories is quite physical, though Watson doesn't dwell on it (not a big draw in those days, I'm guessing). "Worldviews: Crosscultural Explorations of Human Beliefs", Ninian Smart.

Haven't gotten far enough in to say what I think of it. A friend who teaches comparative religions says it's good.

First thing is, they are very heavy on the lawyers, and they defend themselves to the full extent they can in court.


Most of them seem to *be* lawyers - at least a couple of the Phelp's offspring are, and some inlaws...nasty bunch.

The one son's website is educational, if deeply depressing.
