Creation Story
The official doctrine claims that the FSM created the world 5,000 years ago. I would like to raise a counterpoint, based on science's Big Bang theory. If you were a fun-loving, omnipotent being, and you had the chance to make the biggest explosion ever, wouldn't you take it?

Idols
How do we feel about idol worship? A friend of mine who has skill with knitting made me a little plush FSM, and I want to know if it's okay to pray towards it.

Re: Pasta Habits
I would think that He views all pasta equally, but that there's a special place in His heart for spaghetti due to its likeness to His Noodly Appendages. He also knows that not all people can stomach long and stringy food, so this is why pasta exists in all its myriad varieties. :fsm_float: All past...

Pasta Habits
Does the Flying Spaghetti Monster prefer it when we eat spaghetti over other pasta, or are all pastas equal in his eyes?

Interpretation of Monster
I am the Flying Spaghetti Monster. Thou shalt have no other monsters before Me. (Afterwards is OK; just use protection.) The only Monster who deserves capitalization is Me! Other monsters are false monsters, undeserving of capitalization. I interpret monster to mean either a traditional monster or ...

Re: Miscellaneous Questions
1) Have all Pastafarians been touched by His Noodly Appendage? In other words, does being touched by His Noodly Appendage mean the same thing as converting? It depends who you ask. Some of us have not been touched. Some of us have been touched. Some of us have been touched inappropriately. But we'r...

Miscellaneous Questions
1) Have all Pastafarians been touched by His Noodly Appendage? In other words, does being touched by His Noodly Appendage mean the same thing as converting? 2) When the unfortunate day comes that our prophet tastes the beer of the volcano, what measures will we take to prevent a split such as the on...

Re: Ministership
Maybe you find it useless, but I am going to get great mileage out of mine (when I eventually get round to ordering one). It adds credibility to your arguments, it shows that Pastafarianism is more than just an internet meme, and it really pisses people from so-called 'proper' religions off. That's...

Re: Ministership
AFAIK, there is no reason why a minor cannot become a minister. If you've got the $20, you can buy the certificate. There are no real powers, and no real responsibilities, but remember: with great power comes great responsibility. Spiderman's uncle said that, and he would know. As to being a minist...

Weddings
What are some good guidelines for a Pastafarian wedding? Would the couple be pronounced "pirate and wench" (or p/p or w/w depending on sexual orientation)? There would be pasta obviously, and beer where alcohol is legal at weddings. All the men would wear full pirate regalia if possible......

What does being a minister entail in terms of responsibilities and powers/privileges? Also, can minors be ministers?

I've never been too sure of this. Can I be a minister if I'm not a legal adult?

Re: Validity of Pastafarianism
First, they have to define their terms. What do they mean by validity? We are Pastafarians: there are many of us out here; we share a roughly similar belief system; we share some of the same ways of observing our religion (eating pasta, talking like pirates, treating Friday as a day of rest, that s...

Validity of Pastafarianism
Today I found myself having to defend the validity of Pastafarianism. If I ever need to do this again, what are some good defenses? Furthermore, do you consider it a valid religion? Are you a Pastafarian in belief or for satirical reasons? Be honest, I would like to know what stance the community ta...
