Re: The Video Games Thread

've given up games until the end of my degree. Although it's kept my mind on track, and not distracted (by minecraft, mainly) it does mean I search for new means of procrastination. After the degree however ... a certain Skyrim may be purchased. Do you reckon it's worth geting the PC DVD version rat...

Re: Upcoming Films...

Caught a whiff of the wind the other day ... seems that there's a film of Ender's Game in the works: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ender%27s_Game_%28film%29 I'll go to see it regardless of reviews, being a fan of the book. I am slightly tense on how they're going to manage the child violence however.

Got a bit of Cities In Flight on the go ...

... a mighty fine tale, although if I told you the plot you would think I was high. The same goes for A Voyage To Arctarus, thinking about it.

Re: What's The Last Movie You Saw?

I was tempted to go see John Carter and/or the Hunger Games in the cinema, but have been shied off each due to either an apparent lack of brains in the writing or teenage orientation. I'm not sure whether to risk it by going to see them anyway, or not bother at all.

Re: What's The Last Movie You Saw?

Recently watched Repo! The Genetic Opera. Well worth a watch if you prefer a bit of rock in your musical. Also, if you like the Rocky Horror Show you may also like this - although it styles a different sort of (gruesome) humour, it has a similar spirit. The comic style-animations work quite well, alt...

Re: The Video Games Thread

Anyone played Mirror's Edge? Bought it off Steam for £3(hook, line, sinker) earlier this week. Truely (and almost literally) blown away. Clifford, I have it on PS3, but haven't put it in to play yet. I've also been told by other people that it's really good, but it didn't sell well. It was only £5 ...

Re: What's The Last Movie You Saw?

Going through the anime recently, namely Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle, and Princess Mononoke. All brilliant, although the last two do get a bit carried away with themselves.

Oh, and slime. The producers love slime.

Re: What are you reading right now?

NPR's list of the top 100 sci-fi/fantasy works, as voted on by readers/listeners. Let the nerd complaining begin! The Dispossessed AND the Book of the New Sun below 70? I'm suprised they weren't more popular, but it's pleasing to see them voted ot be in the top 100. I'm also suprised by the absence...

Re: What's The Last Movie You Saw?

Last Film I saw was Super 8.

Imagine Cloverfield, you remember Cloverfield, right? Now imagine Cloverfield Spielberg style, with children and lots of hoo-rah. That's my description of the film.
