Re: Hierarchy in the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster

Perhaps there will be a second Prophet, who knows? For the heirarchy, I know that at least in the Coast Guard, the #1 guy is called the Commandant, so that might be a special title for the highest Admiral. The real question is what these officials would do, or talk about, or who they would be talkin...

No, but only because you're clearly confused about what "before" means. :lurk:

Re: Not Converting 100%

It's ok to be a Pastafarian but you should probably hold on to your old religion as a supplement. If you shoot for low moral standards you will certainly succeed. If you shoot for high moral standards you will certainly fail constantly and continually hate yourself. Are you suggesting Pastafarianis...

Re: Loose Canon Submissions - East Asian Material

Just wanted to include links to my submissions for the Dao Bao Jing here, for ease of record keeping. First is one I submitted a while ago, but will hopefully get around to adding at least one chapter to: The Teachings of Lao Mein . The second I just posted, and is a one-off between the student and ...

The Student and the Master

So here's something I wrote for the Dao Bao Jing a while back. Wasn't sure if I'd write another chapter, or if it works better as just a stand alone. I can't think of a good second chapter or other topic for an interaction between these two figures, so I thought I'd just post it already. I would inv...

Re: What's The Last Movie You Saw?

Joss Whedon's Much Ado About Nothing is gold. Echoed. Also, we saw WWZ and Pacific Rim, enjoyed both. My one comment about WWZ is that the pacing near the end seemed a bit... off? Haven't been able to pinpoint it exactly, but the best I can say is that I wasn't expecting it to end when it did. Sinc...

Re: The Official Loose Canon Submission Spot

On a somewhat related topic: Bobby Henderson can't own the Flying Spaghetti Monster. It is an idea. Ideas are not protected under copyright.r Intellectual Property? Also, you've posted some copyright infringement guidelines (something with the word statutory damages I think?). Those all refer to th...

Re: The Official Loose Canon Submission Spot

But the minute money is charged for a book, or the book is mass produced in any way, you are breaking the law, unless or until such time as all contributors and copyright shoulders have given explicit written permission. Yeah, the spirit of the Loose Canon is to be not for profit, and even more tha...

Re: What Is Love in FSM? (FSM vs The Media)

I feel like our Noodly Lord would define love as "really really really liking something, y'know?" or "how I feel about beer, midgets, and pirates." So if your response to the loss of something loved is to spitefully turn the a/c off and the heat up to 85 or 90 F, then you might b...

Re: FSM Sightings on the Internet

Well, if we're going to be purists about this, then I would like to point out that I think the proper doctrine involves worshipping the cosmic deity transcendent of all reality, which we understand in our mortal minds as a flying spaghetti monster, as opposed to worshipping a few pixels in a flash g...

Re: Is the FSM a "Legal Religion"?

De facto, I don't think any religion can be "illegal" in the United States, no matter how silly others may think it. As far as actually having a church - that is, an institution - I don't know if there is one on a national level in any country. Bobby never set one up, so it's not like all ...
