Re: A new way to worship!

This can be our secret recognition sign. If you're in the supermarket or the bank and you see someone who looks like they might be a fellow pastafarian, go right up to them and make this sign about six inches in front of their nose. :D

Yes. Hoyle was, of course, the maverick steady-state man. So his damn cloud wouldn't agree that there ever had been a beginning! :D

Well yes, going forward we need some blue-sky thinking here, out of the box, just run it up the flagpole and see if anyone salutes.

Re: Has anyone any experience of this type of activity?

Doing German via English will be interesting if your English is quite secure, as it seems to be. I went to Danish classes in Germany and learned almost nothing, but that was because the classes were a joke. I had a lot of fun and coming at it from another angle was no problem. Good luck! :fsm:

Do you mean Fred Hoyle's 'Black Cloud'? That's a good read! The view on politicians and their inability to communicate with scientists is hilarious. :D

Good scheme! Let's steal the ones that are now known as 'the Feast of St Barsogenus the Unspeakable', 'Flatulence Friday' and 'the Remembrance of the Seven Matzoh Balls'. :fsm_float:

It is He who hath ordained our appellation :worship: and if ye meddle therewith, ye shall be flayed alive and marinaded in vindaloo sauce.
Also, it's too clever. Most of the humourless buggers out there don't get it now; this would really confuse 'em. Nice idea, though.

It did for me. My problem is, my laptop doesn't have a numerical keypad and the ALT+number trick doesn't work with the numbers on the top row. But it works on my desktop keyboard.

Re: Learning two languages would be a help or a hindrance?

I am trying to learn French by posting on the French part of this topic...but it is a very slow process as there don't seem to be many French pastafarians. Yup. Ten days back I posted in the main German thread which had previously been deserted since last August. No reply. Trouble with French is, I...

Re: Learning two languages would be a help or a hindrance?

Is it your speech, or the attempts of the Dutch speakers to accommodate you in a language in which they feel you'd be more comfortable? Many Europeans are multilingual enough to be able to sort out your accent and go for that language. Belgian innkeepers, for example, must be fluent in at least 5 l...

In Latin, Monstrum Volans Pastagenitum seems OK to me but I'm not sure about 'noodly' or 'appendage'.

Tactus sum ab appendatione suo ..... ???
