Re: What are you reading right now?

Just finished Small Gods by Terry Pratchet. Awesome. Starting Old Path White Clouds by Thich Nhat Hanh. Seems interesting. We'll see.

Re: The Video Games Thread

Playing Samurai Warriors 2. Just found out that it has a PC version. Awesome. I'll never understand what American reviewers have against Koei. Kessen, Dynasty Warriors, Samurai Warriors are all great fun, and are habitually trashed by Gamespot and IGN. Sure, they ain't pretty, but with the amount of...

Re: The Video Games Thread

^Whut 'e sed. With Oblivion, you could explore interesting places, join factions, do interesting quests for interesting people. Morrowind was even better. In Fallout 3, there were almost no interesting characters (A crying shame, considering the series it claims to be part of). All there is to see i...

Re: The Video Games Thread

See, I thought Fallout 3 was TOO open-ended. It drops you in the wasteland with barely any direction at all, and I got bored just wandering around, until I lucked into Megaton... and then there just wasn't enough to do to keep me interested. I'll have to try New Vegas.

Re: The Video Games Thread

Just started playing Champions Online. It's actually not bad, though I've barely started actually playing. I'm having to much fun in the character creator. I think I've settled, though. Here's his backstory. I only did it because I imagine everyone's too busy making their ninjas and Goku rip-offs th...

Re: Watcha listenin' to?

The general cocky tone of his conversation, his "Wangsta" attitude, and his incessant use of the word "Swag". He seems arrogant, though that's to be expected from an incredibly famous teenager. The abortion comments were one thing that I LIKED, simply because he actually admitted...

Re: Watcha listenin' to?

Justin Bieber. Just had an interview in the new Rolling Stone. Seemed like a douche. I decided to check out his shit anyway, just to keep up on current trends. His music is standard pop fare. Why the ridiculous, cultish love?

Re: The Video Games Thread

You know, I love me a good adventure game. So when I saw Broken Sword: The Sleeping Dragon at Big Lots for $6.00, I snapped it up. Well, I'm here to tell you, :furious: Broken Sword! :furious: it hard! Friggin' game won't even bloody launch. Godammit.

Re: The Video Games Thread

Just finished Modern Warfare 2, and realized something. Modern Warfare and Call of Duty really are two completely different series. If the Call of Duty games are Saving Private Ryan, Modern Warfare is something that might come about if you mixed Tom Clancy and John Woo. That is to say, not terribly ...

Re: The Video Games Thread

Maybe you guys and gals can help me out... I got a copy of Assassins Creed but it has no book to go with the disc. Near as i can tell the game involves climbing towers and running away. Help? Which Assassin's Creed? The first one is about climbing buildings, running away, killing people, and doing ...

Re: The Video Games Thread

Just spent the last 12 hours playing. Bart, "Much better than the original" is one of the greatest understatements in history. Everything, everything , has been massively improved. The last Assassin's Creed was merely Ok. This is a bloody masterpiece. Personal favorite part *SPOILER*: Savi...

Re: The Video Games Thread

Just picked up Assassin's Creed II. Just watching my roommate playing, but I'm very, very impressed. Very much so with the setting. I much prefer the cultured, romantic Rennaisance-era Florence to the Chaotic, Crusades-era Middle East. It's far more immersive than the first game, and the character i...

All around, little plips sounded in the water as shrapnel continued to fall.
