Re: What are you DRINKNG right now?

Homemade soymilk. I've always been the curious DIY sort, and I've had a package of dried soybeans staring daggers at me for several weeks now. It was surprisingly easy ... soak overnight in triple volume of water, drain, then puree in stages in a blender for 60 sec (1 part drained beans to 3 parts c...

Re: Cartoon Of The Day...

Did you know the word 'Nazi' existed before the National socialists? It was a degorative variant on a nickname Ignaz for Ignatio, a common name for Bavarian peasants. It was essentially the German version of the word 'hick'. That this was the name that stuck tells you plenty about how the Nazi move...

Re: The New Convert Thread - MAKE YOUR FIRST POST HERE

Nice to hear Scalia has nice things to say about us ... bastard still owes me money though. BTW, we're having a kegger down the hall in Room 1337. Oh, and the executive wash room is around the corner, to the left. Watch your step though, cuz Nef Yoo likes to mist the floor with water, just to test p...

Re: What are you EATING right now?

It ain't teasing, it's true. I didn't say it wasnt true ... Teasing , by definition, spotlights truth in a playful way. Regardless, I'm with you 100%. My wife is Irish (or rather, Irish American on both sides) ... she tolerates corned beef, but doesn't really yearn for it like I do. Over here, Corn...

Re: What are you EATING right now?

Instant ramen noodles with oriental flavoring, chicken egg, Grape Nuts, lime juice, Tabasco sauce, and Italian seasoning. I've never tried grape nuts as a supplemental thickener/starch. My usual go to choices are crushed nabisco saltines, unflavored panko bread crumbs, or (added with the ramen nood...

As do I, friend, which is why I've got an unopened cryovac of raw corned beef sitting in the bottom of my fridge, awaiting a leisurly bath in the slow cooker sometime later this week. Just a little friendly cross pond teasing. ;-)

Re: What are you EATING right now?

Traditionally, Brits salt their beef and chuck it in barrels, and Yanks smoke it or grill it or stew it.

The bones and trim are in the pot. The 6 lbs of salmon frames yeilded almost 2 lbs of useable meat ... I'll save a third of it in the freezer or for an egg scramble in the mirning, and the rest will go into the soup. Too lazy to make quenelles ATM ... will kill some time in WoW instead.

Re: What are you EATING right now?

Last night I made a 15" Chicago Deep Dish Pizza ... double mushroom (I used a full 1.5 cups of the mushroom confit I keep in my fridge) and extra cheese (1.5 lbs). Filled the pan to the rim when baked. Plenty of leftovers. I was in a korean market earlier restocking condiments, and spotted some...

Re: What are you DRINKNG right now?

It's not open yet, but I grabbed a bottle of Veuve Cliquot NV for later ... a bit pricey, but the wifey was very pleased.

For the rest of the year, I usually stick with less expensive sparklers like Astoria Proseco or Magners Sparkling Irish Pear Cider, costing about 1/4 as much.

^ President and CEO of the Dalek Sewing Thimble Corporation. Ah yes, the trolls ... they come in all sizes and flavors. Re: What are you DRINKNG right now?

For true Weegie credentials, you must refer to Buckfast as 'The wine'. Not 'wine', 'The wine'. I used to work in Oddbins in Hell's-bog-horror, just up the coast from Faslane nuclear submarine base. It's a posh town with footballers and such like. Jazz singer Annie Ross came from Helensburgh, as did...
