Re: Happy Birthday

You then, when Roy uses a dictionary definition to point out that protege is a FRENCH word think that because that definition is in an English dictionary it somehow invalidates where the word protege comes from. I simply claimed that using an English dictionary for a foreign definition is like aski...

Re: Happy Birthday

some twerp suggested that Google Translate was sufficient evidence to rebut his correction to a mis-translation. I rebutted the French translation, which I double checked with my French instructor, whose first language is French, yamuppet. As Roy has pointed out, you did nothing of the sort. To 're...

Re: Did you hear who died?

Chris Cornell, grunge singer with Soundgarden and later Audioslave.

I was never a big Soundgarden fan but the work he did with Audioslave was awesome, it was Rage mk 2 with snarling sung vocals rather than rap. This is probably one of the better examples of the new direction they took.

Re: Did you know?

Sorry, I don't speak slang, what is Yerp? Yerp is the next continent to the right. In between Murca and Aysha. Directly translated, it means slightly different things, not the same in each language. I am afraid that statement is too wrong and too silly to bother arguing about. I probably should hav...

Was he cycling at the time? If he was, what a bellend. If he wasn't, what a complete bellend.

Apparently I can't delete my own posts. Never mind, your recent posts were just re-posting drivel in an increasingly irritating fashion. Please stop it.

Re: Did you hear who died?

Martin McGuinness, Sinn Féin politician, 66 I know that's how it's reported and it is technically true but calling him that is like calling Osama Bin Laden a motivational speaker. OK then, Colin Dexter was a Classics teacher. Yes, he was. The same way Martin McGuinness was a murdering terrorist. Ma...

..............In my day were were lucky to to have a slate and a piece of chalk................CF Slate and chalk, sheer luxury! We had to draw in the sand with a stick. A stick and sand? Luxury! Re: Pastafarian Theology Doctoral Theses

Is that it? A bunch of self-referential, self congratulatory hogwash based on reading the Gospel, some questionable assumptions about Islam, and some self-cancelling logic? I read it over 6 times before I posted it (no, really). Seriously? Try and take this as constructive criticism but you have qu...

I suspect you'd get a BS.

That is something different to a BSc I assume? I think FA might be more likely :idiot:

Re: Watcha listenin' to?

In between checking in here I have finally finished marking a set of books. This was what I was listening to at the end. The Offspring had a certain knack for semi-depressing but upbeat sounding songs. Way Down the Line and The Kids Aren't Alright are good examples too. Still not touching the Jam an...
