I could ban him? I'm still trying to understand what all the moderating buttons do, this could be a good experiment. Monobaz will end up either banned, without an avatar or be put in charge of the entire board

I found another Spaghetti-related book by Eric Whitfield on Amazon.
You can read the first bit without buying it.
I'll just leave this here without further comment: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Spaghetti-Issue ... 478&sr=1-4

Re: ATTN: All Authors of the Loose Canon Second Edition
Hmm interesting. He says in the "who the author is" section that he's a devout Christian and a Baptist deacon. I wasn't aware that Christians as a rule approved of stealing (which he's tried to do to the Loose Cannon at least twice).
Flicking through the preview, there seems to be a lot of disconnected ramblings bringing in both Christian scripture and Pastfarian doctrine. There's also an interesting rant-disguises-as-song about copyright law (I wonder why....)
Someone who is more familiar with the Loose Cannon might like to run an eye over the preview, just in case
(There's also an issue of some pages are withheld from the preview so we can't see what's in them without someone actually buying a copy, which I am hesitant to do)

I thought I could smell the sweet essence of Baptist. Given Eric's religious affiliations I cannot ever see him stealing "The Epistle According to Abdallah"!

Re: ATTN: All Authors of the Loose Canon Second Edition
I've just skimmed through this thread and the 'Fake 2nd Edition' thread so someone please correct me if I'm wrong but I gather that
1) an 'Eric (Russell?) Whitfield' self-published a version of The Loose Cannon via Amazon,
2) he was also 'jjuicegiver' and 'peacefulsongs,' and
3) a few copies were sold but the book is no longer listed for sale
I don't believe any attempt was made to contact me via private message here or facebook; this is the first I'm hearing of this. Needless to say, he did not have permission to sell anything that I wrote.

Re: ATTN: All Authors of the Loose Canon Second Edition
Basically yes.
He tried to do it twice. The second time he removed the writings from the people who had specifically objected the first time, but still published the everything else without asking permission of anyone else.
Given he's done it twice, I do periodically trawl through Amazon just to make sure there isn't another version popped up.

The circumstances of the world are continually changing, and the opinions of men change also; and as government is for the living, and not for the dead, it is the living only that has any right in it. That which may be thought right and found convenient in one age, may be thought wrong and found inconvenient in another. In such cases, who is to decide, the living, or the dead? -Thomas Paine

From a purely humanistic sense, I find it vaguely reassuring that even the Church of the FSM has its share of money grubbers, sheep buggerers, backstabbers, and blasphemers. For a while, things were looking too perfect around here.
