I had His holy meal tonight. I'm not eating it right now, as it's 3am, but it was divine. RAmen.

I went skip diving yesterday and got a nice sirloin steak (don't worry - it was still perfectly okay to eat). I didn't feel like just frying it off like normal so I hopped on the interweb to get inspiration.

I cut my steak into strips and marinaded it in chilli, 3 cloves of garlic, coriander leaf, lime juice and about 2/3 of a bottle of Mexican beer. Left it overnight.

Today had that grilled in a tortilla and made a nice pico de gallo salsa (chopped tomato, white onion, chilli, coriander leaf and lime juice).

^ mmm, that sounds nice. Which beer did you use? There's that tequila beer I tried a couple of years ago. Don't have too many of them...

As for my culinary delights, at this moment I am eating a three-quarter-size jam doughnut (tr. jelly donut). Followed by another one. With strong coffee.

It was normal light Mexican beer - Sol I think (maybe Corona). Don't think my normal tipple of proper ale would work.

Kane's Donuts from Saugus, MA, yesterday and this morning. Frosting filled, chocolate glazed, and regular glazed, in that order. Delicious.

For breakfast, I had coffee with skim milk, and Quaker Instant Oatmeal, plain variety, microwaved, with skim milk. I then added real maple syrup, and natto with the contents of some flavoring packets packaged therewith, of whose composition I'm not sure but I think the flavor is supposed to be kelp based. Anyway, it was delicious.

Ashley made a pot of raccoon soup for dinner! She and Uncle Bob didn't like it too much, so I ate most of it! It was delicious! Now I be sleepy.

Lasagne. Store bought unfortunately. But still very nice.

I have never tried Raccoon meat before. Sounds interesting.

Lightly toasted wholemeal bread slathered in butter. On top of this was placed sliced mushrooms, then some Emmental cheese. This was then placed under a grill until the Emmental melted. Add a little tomato sauce (ketchup/catsup) for a little extra taste and voilà! Perfection.

Pizza Express pizza from the supermarket. Frankly it's a bit rubbish, I wouldn't have got it unless it was half price. I definitely prefer the cheap Tesco's pizzas, they taste better and cost less :idiot:

Beef liver, bacon, onions in a gravy. Don't use lamb's fry [liver] - it just doesn't cook the same. My brother used to love it before being diagnosed with Haemo chromatosis which near killed him. By FSM's grace I among 4 bros escaped the gene.

db I prefer to make my own pizza though usually can't be arsed making the dough anymore and just use blank store-bought bases.... and must have anchovies. :haha:

Just to clarify, it wasn't actual raccoon meat that I used for the soup. It was actually a recipe for "Japanese "tanuki" or "raccoon-dog" soup, which is also erroneous in itself. The tanuki is a Japanese animal that resembles a cross between a raccoon and a dog, but is not related to either species. It's considered a symbol of good luck in the local culture.

In years gone by, its meat was used in making the soup. However, once vegetarianism came in vogue along with Buddhism, it was replaced by this plant-based material, konyako, or taro gelatin. ADoS quite liked its taste, but neither my uncle or myself were very fond of it. It has an odd smell and a texture similar to rubber.

http://1tess.wordpress.com/2009/03/07/racoon-miso-soup/ There's the link to the recipe I used if anyone's interested.
