That's what happens in the NHS as well (in my experience). There really isn't much you can do for toes, fingers or ribs, you get the standard X-ray to check if it is broken, they strap it up, give you painkillers and tell you not to do whatever it was you did again.

I'd still suggest Tig goes in bearing in mind her existing medical issues. You'd feel silly if this turned out to be an indicator of something serious like osteoporosis and you didn't get it checked out

As I posted in the whinge thread, I cycled to the medical drop-in centre where they X-rayed me, diagnosed 'probably not broken but come back Monday' and agreed that my compression sock was doing a better job of supporting it than the tubular bandage I was offered.

My foot hurts.

I was too tired and sore to go to the cinema this evening. :bummer:

And, to get back on-topic, I'm avoiding reading the bible at the moment because the one I have here is the size of a small house and I'd really hate to drop it on my foot.

There you have it...Commandment numero eleven:

Thou shalt not drop the good book on thine toe.

That's quite an accomplishment. Did you drop a frozen turkey on your foot?

If he had dropped a frozen turkey on his foot, he probably wouldn't have said foot anymore.

Negative. I'd call that a roasting accident, anyway.
Nope, I was baking cookies.

Does it say anything about Nef Yoos in the Bible? Are you allowed to sacrifice them on a Friday?

Wasn't there something like 'Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:
And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel'? I'm pretty sure that was about Nef Yoo and Capellini.

Marry a robot. End domestic violence.

Wait, there's probably something in Leviticus prohibiting that...

And God and the spirit of Samuel Hahnemann made a bet casting DB as Job! (Mentioning DB is bound to mire us in the realm of broken bones indefinitely.)

Only if it's a gentile robot that eats pork.

It was an accident - we were in a swimming pool on holiday in Gran Canaria, she got too close to me swimming, I kicked her in the thigh, my toe broke. I walked around for a week pretending I hadn't broken my toe, but I had, and I got it seen too on the NHS back in Blighty.

Typical Scotsman...would rather walk around with a broken toe than fork out money to get it fixed.

^ It must be catching.

(Maried to a Scot for over 30 years, walking around in compression socks and tight boots… )
