...but that would make me 99! I wouldn't be able to lift a traffic bollard or survive a Death Metal concert...but I could skip lectures and watch 'Cash in the Attic'.
The smoke wafted gently in the breeze across the poop deck and all seemed right in the world.

If the bible was presented like this when I was a kid, I would probably be a Christian right now.

I believe it's time for mankind to set aside the crutch of religion and embrace morality born of reason and truth. Those crutches have long since proven treacherous when the ground gets slippery.

Carey has been a right wally (again). Fortunately the Daily Mash has provided a handy guide for UK christians to work out if they're being persecuted or not :haha:

Remember: chocolate Easter bunnies are hollow to remind us of god's promises.

Persecuted? This from the former leader of an organisation that has the reigning monarch as its head, automatic representation in the House of Lords, the right to establish its own schools, daily sermons broadcast on state radio and regular broadcasts on TV, automatic attendance at all major state occasions and very generous tax breaks to further add to its enormous wealth. Oh, and not forgetting that they have the Supreme Being on their side. I wish I was persecuted half as much. (Shamelessly stolen.)

One thing the above paragraph missed is that it's also the official religion of the UK. Seriously Americans, the UK has an official state religion. That bit always tickles me, the UK is one of the most secular countries in the world but has an official, legal state religion displayed in every official building but the US, whose constitution expressly forbids government and religion being joined together, is one of the most religious countries in the world. Irony or what? :haha:

It is simple, really. In Britain, people associate religion with paying your taxes. In the US, it's the exact opposite.

That needs to get turned into a meme or proverb or something.
