Political Parties of Denmark

Postby Johan » Sat Jan 12, 2008 8:02 am

These are the parties currently in parliament, you might notice a certain trend in naming conventions:

The Social Democrats
Conservative People's Party
Socialist People's Party
Danish People's Party
The Radical Left
New Alliance
Unity List

Can you guess which of these are not considered left-wing in Denmark?

Conservative People's Party sounds rather oxymoronic. But then, we have a conservative party called the Liberal Party in Australia. When ever we mention the word liberal we have to add "with a lowercase L" just to clarify that we aren't talking about them.

We also have a conservative party formerly known as the Country Party who had to change their name to the National Party cos whenever someone said "I'm a Country member" they'd often get the response of "How could I ever forget?"
