I have, in other circumstances, been referred to as Nostalgiadamus, A.K.A. "The Man Who Saw Yesterday."
"Mit der Dummheit kämpfen Götter selbst vergebens."
("Against stupidity, the gods themselves contend in vain.")
-- Friedrich Schiller (1759–1805)
Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.
-- Philip K Dick

What happens when all the renewable energy runs out?
-- Victoria Ayling

English isn't much of a language for swearing. When I studied Ancient Greek I was delighted to discover a single word - Rhaphanidosthai - which translates roughly as "Be thou thrust up the fundament with a radish for adultery."

Well, if we assume that you still aren't perfect, you can't know that for sure. You would have to observe everything at every point in time and know everything about it all to say that perfection is impossible.
Summary: Russel's Teapot.

No . . . I did know the barrel roll.

Did you know???

Be careful on Mr. Doob's in-browser javascript editor, because while you CAN save your code, it runs that code every time you re-open the page. Thus, if you write something that crashes the browser, every time you open the page . . . yeah. Until you clear your cookies. :furious: Plus you lose the code.

I am somewhat amused that you can't spell Russell.
Really, that is one of your better ones.

Russell's Teapot is about how to treat unfalsifiable claims:
Bertrand Russell wrote:nobody can prove that there is not between the Earth and Mars a china teapot revolving in an elliptical orbit, but nobody thinks this sufficiently likely to be taken into account in practice. (my emphasis)

You are welcome to consider that perfection exists, despite all the evidence to the contrary. You are even welcome to spout ridiculous counter-factual nonsense about 'achieving' perfection. That is your teapot assertion.

But don't expect anyone to take you seriously about that, least of all me. Or daftbeaker for that matter, he gets really anstsy about people getting thermodynamics wrong.

Might I suggest you read up on Russell's Teapot before using it again?
"I don't mean to sound bitter, cynical and cruel; but I am, so that's how it comes out." Bill Hicks.
"One should not believe everything one reads on the internet." Abraham Lincoln
"Are you OK?" daftbeaker (<-- very good question, people should ask it more often.)

That's just not nice. I misspelled, and that's once in more than 700 posts.
I'll be honest, it just became twice. I misspelled misspelled.
Roy Hunter wrote:Russell's Teapot is about how to treat unfalsifiable claims

The whole point of Russell's Teapot is that ANY claim is unfalsifiable. It might be really improbable, but it's still possible, and thus cannot be proven false. To state that I did not type this is unlikely, but still possible. Perhaps I'm a redpill, and so I didn't REALLY type this. I don't know, and thus cannot be sure it isn't true.

Dɑmn right I am.
Roy Hunter wrote:daftbeaker [ . . . ] gets really anstsy

I noticed.

What, did you think I had something better to do with my time? I have read about it.

Did you know????

The songs in Portal 2 are very catchy. And good. But they get annoying after the 5,000,067th time going through it in your head.

Did you know????

The Egyptians were the first to discover that the Earth was round. They discovered it by using shadows, and based it off of the way they moved across dunes.

There's an echo in here.

I've never claimed to be from another planet; that's why my name is two words. Go back and look at my introductory post. I'm just a spare earthling.

Did you know????

ET's been here a loooooooong time.
But if we ever run out of terrestrials, I don't think you'd be the greatest last resort. That's like making Trump the designated survivor (great show by the way). Except making Trump the designated survivor is much worse.

EDIT: Did you know????

I'm not smart.
I got 24 pages into the New Convert Thread before realizing I could just look at when ET joined and skip ahead to that point in time of the thread . . . if that made sense to anyone else.

EDIT 2: Did you know????

I'm really not smart.
Could have just gone to ET's profile, clicked, "Search user's posts", and went to the bottom of the last page.
