I was lost but now I'm found,
Bound by his noodly goodness,
I am ready to be baptized in thy sauce,
The lord is thy savior of flavor,
May the God of carbs and all that is brothy consume me,

Ramen

Is this true of most places in Canada and US? What are people experiences of using food banks if they are atheists or "non-beleivers"? Is religions forced on them when they accept food?

In the UK, the largest Food Bank organisation is the Trussell Trust. They are a Christian organisation, and they often run their food banks out of churches, but that is the extent of the "religious" thing - they don't ask about people's beliefs, and will help anyone referred to them irrespective of who they are (to get food from a Trussell Trust food bank, you have to have a voucher, which can issued by a range of organisations and front-line care professionals e.g. doctors, social workers). But then again, this is the UK, where religion is far less "in your face", and being a non-believer isn't really an issue.

I guess one would need shelved storage and a connection with an organization that specializes in food pantry distribution like "Midwest food bank" in Illinois. I'm looking for others in my community to organize one as well! Special offers for all things pasta and sauces brought to the communities attention to help stock the shelves with carb loaded love for all in need!

Welcome, Michael72 and all the other new people.

I may have to go and get Platypus Enthusiast off Facebook and back on here - he's running a 'Victory Gardening' project, growing food to feed the homeless - so he probably has some good ideas for you.

Anyway, much as I don't want to spoil the fun: this is the New Converts thread. If you want to have conversation about foodbanks and feeding the needy, go and start a thread about one! That's what the forum is for.

Twas once upon a time
BEyond the Highland Line
A realisation, that the 'cause'
Meant more with pasta sauce,
I left my croft to at nightfall
to seek the holy meatballs
and I can't think of anything to rhyme so just to say I'm glad I came by and hope to learn more from this wonderful idea of a religion which I've been following for a while now. :lurk:

Pastology: the science of the causes and effects of noodles, especially the branch of insanity that deals with the laboratory examination of samples of wheat based products for fun or piratical purposes.

You should try this thread: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=35572 There may be other threads regarding that, but that was the first I found.
Hope that helps you!
Cheers! :drinking:

Mourning Star is correct - that is the current thread for ideas for Monisters officiting at weddings. As one of the tenets of Pasafarianism is loose moral standards, none of those are set in stone, so feel free to pick and choose, or create you own (if you do, we'd love you to share)
