E.T. You are definitely old.

Well, you are exactly two weeks older than me, so I suppose you must be old, because I am.

Yeah, I'm pretty much the oldest person in every group I'm associated with. I never thought I'd last this long.

Happy birthday, Tig.

Thank you!

I've realised that I can't do arithmetic when it's the middle of the night - you are exactly three weeks older than I am!

Sigh.

Getting old comes with irritating deficits, but it still beats the alternative. I never thought I'd reach this age, either.

According to the website it was Rain's birthday today. Another one gone to the beer volcano too early.

At least he didn't have to see Trump in the White House. Cheers, Rain.

Happy birthday to the Beveridge Report, published 75 years ago today.

The Beveridge Report is the basis of the UK's Welfare State, NHS and Social Care system. It aimed to tackle the 'five giants' of ignorance, idleness, disease, squalour and want.

Now we seem to be dismantling it all again. Ignorance, idleness, disease, squalour and want are all back on the agenda in this country.
