Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.

English isn't much of a language for swearing. When I studied Ancient Greek I was delighted to discover a single word - Rhaphanidosthai - which translates roughly as "Be thou thrust up the fundament with a radish for adultery."

Robert M. Pirsig, author of Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, 88, he was old. Ridiculously smart, but old.

Chris Cornell, grunge singer with Soundgarden and later Audioslave.

I was never a big Soundgarden fan but the work he did with Audioslave was awesome, it was Rage mk 2 with snarling sung vocals rather than rap. This is probably one of the better examples of the new direction they took.

Peter Sallis is a great loss - a brilliant comedian. But cheer up, there's a rumour that they've signed William Hague to play Wallace.

Are you mad? '14 pints a day' Hague compared to Sallis? I'll be launching footwear at the telly inside 5 minutes.

Bodger was a decent bloke, I remember watching that when I came in from school with my younger brother. Hardly amazing art but funny.
