Sweet.

Good, for certain purposes.

I just puked a little. A shotgun, with an M4 collapsible stock, an AK front blade sight (sight on a shotgun? Kind of like boobs on a man...not pretty, and useless).

In short, a whole bunch of pretty frou frou on a shotgun.

GO to your local Wal Cult, and pay ninety bucks or so for a utilitarian single shot 12ga, and a box of bird shot.

It will definately repell all boarders, without going through interior walls and killin yer crew.

(and another note about that pretty "tactical" shotgun....that baby would cost about 700 bucks for all that useless hardware!)

A duck foot pistol is handy in a melee too.

Had England so many great pirates because of its boarding school system?

Yes! It all makes sense now!

This is a major scientific breakthrough we have here!

And the navy cadet corps had cutlass training even in WW2 (I saw some official training films on that, the IWM publishes a lot on DVD).

Amazing! And I would bet that a few of them had parrots or some other bird, or even an eyepatch!

It's all coming together now, like an annoying puzzle!

the F88 AusSteyr.

These were just the first pics i found. We have a version over here which has a 40mm grenade launcher (often called a whump gun or a whumper) mounted under the barrel.

Duke- i gotta agree with Libra here. Thats the dumbest looking shot gun on the planet. This is something a little different...
Image
doesnt really look like one but this is in fact a 12 gauge shot gun. A fully automatic 12 gauge shotgun capable of 300 rounds per minute. Comparative to a machine gun this is helplessly slow, but for a shotgun??
It is billed as being the AA12, an urban assualt weapon. Perfect for clearing a deck or blowing holes in your enemies boat with the explosive ammunition (optional)
There is something classic about a sword, but for stoppage, for effectiveness you cannot go past a gun. And a shot gun with whatever the size is called we used to go water buffalo hunting with (four solid steel balls the size of a marble in each cartridge) has got serious stopping power.

Still there remains the question, where to get the ammo from. With the oldfashioned models one is more or less independent. In cases of need, one can produce black powder easily without much external supplies (even the sulphur, there are lots of sources in the Caribbean). The need for lots of new brass cartridges for automatic weapons ties you far too much to unreliable suppliers.
