pizza is bascially the same as pasta.
its got:
carbs/grain/wheat/bready stuff
sauce
meat
cheese
no big difference really. and I'm pretty sure pizza is actually from new york orignally, not italy. but I'm not sure.

Hey Qwerty,
Pizza originated in Italy , however, many forms of it exsisted in may other parts of the world indepedently at many different points in history.
Consider what the pizza is, in it's basic form ,A bready pancake with stuff on it.
Remember that tomatoes were indigious to the Americas and brought to Europe along with spuds an' such. So the original sauce if any would have been different.
Today the general consensus points to a place in NY.NY. (Bronx or Brooklyn) of an Italian American who created the version the world over knows and loves.( Try snopes .com for clarification, i believe, but unsure they have a post there).

There's a recipe on www.foodnetwork.com search for pasta pizza.
It uses Capellini (not to be confused with this sites Moderator) for the crust.
spaghetti is a gateway pasta.

There's a good, brief history of pizza here: http://whatscookingamerica.net/History/Pizza/PizzaHistory.htm. I've heard most of what it says from other sources, so I think it's a pretty good summation of CW on the subject.
'Afore ye be criticizin' a man, walk a mile in his shoes: that way, when ye DO criticize him, ye'll be a mile away, and ye'll have his shoes...

You mean none of you guys have ever heard of Pizza-ghetti ???
It's the best thing ever ! A bambino sized pizza with spaghetti onthe side, I mix both with my fork and then eat the pizza.... with spaghetti sauce !
