FSM shoulder angel, anyone?

I'd been wanting to make a spaghetti god out of pipe cleaners for a while, and I finally did. On Halloween I was a pirate with this guy on my shoulder:

He has since retired to a position of workplace mascot at my college Writing Center.

And now I just made another one to put up on eBay, and spread the joy. They're not hard to make, but it takes a while. Totally worth it, though!

What did you use for the meatballs and how do you make them stick to the pasta? Everything I've thought to use is heavy and squishes the pipe cleaners.
