The best drink to go with pasta-based foods?
What do you think is the best type of drink to go with pasta? I've always liked Lemon Iced Tea, for some reason... anyone else feel the same?
And on a completely unrelated but related point, what is Kool Aid, and is there a british equivalent?

Cold beer is good, but being British, my real preference is for tea.

I usually drink milk with all of my meals at home.

I usually do a good Chianti if they're fancy noodles, but if it's just something basic, then either beer or water.
Kool Aide is a sugary powdered soft drink mix. You pour it into water and then add what seems like half a pound of sugar. After drinking a glass, I'm pretty sure your teeth will rot out. Do not give it to children, unless you are about to send them home. It's best with cheap vodka in it.
Man, I sound like a drunk.

An Australian Lambrusco (not just the French hate us for our superior quality wines - the Italians do too, only they don't get as worked up about copyright issues in the names).
I recommend Maglieri. Easy to drink, flavoursome, not too expensive.
Cab Merlot works well too.

Wow, you must have one heck of a cholesterol.
Milk raises your cholesterol? How so?
I drink 2% milk, if that changes anything.

Do not worry!
I have read that 80 % of cholesterol in the blood is endogenous and only 20 % - exogenous and the cholesterol in the food is not the same as the cholesterol in the blood.
We need some amount of cholesterol for the organism to function, so it is like a vitamin.

Actually, you're supposed to drink the same wine you cook with. (This is of course for people who have moved beyond cooking wine, so please, if you cook with cooking wine, do not then drink it. It makes your noodly lord cry.)
For me, I have found that the absolute best wine for a tomato sauce is a Malbec, so that's what I like to drink with my pasta.
It's also my favorite red in general.
I don't really like chianti, not enough body for me.
