Well by being french I can help you understanding what would be our reaction if you called us like that .... you would be punched
More seriously , Frogs is a slang term , an insult english canadians use against us . This term was used for the ''first time'' after we lost the war and became under the juridiction of the british invaders . No one really knows why frog .... but it is quite insulting .
I don't know if you ever heard the term : '' Tête-carée '' or '' Square-Head '' ? It is our insult , mainly toward ontarians since they are the first english canadian colonies . They lived in the Upper Canada and we lived in the ( I don't know the term used in english to describe the two old separations of the Canada) Canada . But , since english canadians weren't happy that we had such a big territory left to us , that they lost their territories to Americans and that we were better treated then them the Loyalists , they started to live in our territory . They made townships , big squares separated in small squares , equal more or less to each others , it was different then our method ( again I don't know the term in english , sorry ) . Our method was to create long stripes of land near rivers , so everyone had an acces to the source of water since everyone had a part of the river at the end of his property . So '' Tête-carée '' or '' Square-Head '' refer to these different style of repartition of the land . Now it is not really used by us , mainly because there's no city made in the shape of a square anymore .
Wish it helped you to understand that we , french canadians , and you , english canadians have been hating each others for several centuries and that made some colorfull insults over the time
ps
Yes I have the soul of a Patriot and that makes me a separatist .... not that I don't like the canada .... its only I don't like the english people in it .... :P

French people.
Yea, lke I said, I didn't even hear that term until ealier this year. But I umm, didn't want to be the one to point it out, what it meant. Since I never heard it before this year, I didn't know the reaction I would have gotten from anyone French.

Re: Canadian Pastafarians Unite!
You were kidding about not liking the English people in Canada, or kidding about being a separatist?
Either way, welcome to the outrageously outlandishly ostensibly... interesting... forums of the FSM. Don't feel bad about there not being many Pastafarians from Québec. How many do you see from New Brunswick? Don't you worry, I'll be your buddy
. I've spent a lot of time in Québec, anyway.

Just Quebec city and a few of the little places around it. All I've seen of Montreal is the inside of the airport and a very scary highway. I'm thinking about going back to Quebec during my March break, to see some old friends, if I can work up the cash.
