Re: Earworms!
Yes, t'was a dark moment in Australian history when Rolf Harris deigned to travel the long stairway to heaven. It was better than his Bohemian Rhapsody, however difficult that may be.
Lucky I don't consider myself an Australian citizen any more, no matter what words on paper say.
Hey, we should start Rolf Harris' Stairway to Heaven as a new kind of Rick Roll!
An interprank has begun! The coronation ceremony begins! Long Live The Rolf Wobble!

Would that be an "eyeworm"? (Ewwwwwww.)

I... I... I... WHU? What in the nine hells was that? Wait, I just checked out Bohemian Rhapsody... *slits wrists with much rapidity*
Although, even though the original is one of my favorite songs (that I'm royally ashamed of), I absolutely loved this:

I have always loved Take On Me, as should everyone.
http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=RMWXyEHoN88
Reel Big Fish does a good job with it.

So do these guys. As a matter of fact, I love everything this group does.

Also, Don't Let Us Get Sick, by Warren Zevon, gets stuck in my head rather regularly. Unfortunately, I could not find a video of him singing, but Jill Sobule is good too.

What else? Oh, anything by Cheap Trick is a pretty sure bet for an earworm, but that's almost too easy.

Riot by Three Days Grace
LETS START A RIOT, A RIOT, LETS START A RIOT...
LETS START A RIOT, A RIOT, LETS START A RIOT...
Kaylee: Wash, tell me I'm pretty.
Wash: If I were unwed, I would take you up in a manly fashion.
Kaylee: 'Cause I'm pretty?
Wash: 'Cause your pretty.
(Wash and Kaylee, Firefly, Heart of Gold)
It's a broken hearts parade
And I'm putting my heart out on display
There's no masquerade
Just a funeral march for love today
The band strikes up and they're playing a song
Dressed in black, and we're singing along to the
Broken hearts parade
I've never been better then I am today
(Broken Hearts Parade - Good Charlotte)

Turn It On by The Flaming Lips is easily one of the catchiest songs in my library. I can't turn it off.

where women flow and men plunder.....

Of course, that will lead to "overkill", and "who can it be now?", which should seguay you(or me, as I remember my early teenage years) into related cascading memory-strings of '80s staples like "Africa" by Toto, and "Middle of the road" by the Pretenders....

Re: Earworms!
80's staples, as far as I'm concerned, are Turn On The News by Husker Du and Death Valley '69 by Sonic Youth. Maybe some Pixies. I wouldn't be caught dead with Toto. Overkill's a good song, though.

We have a little correction there. I think it goes something like this:
"I come from a land down under,
Where women blow and men chunder. (which means vomit, spew.)
Can you hear, can't you hear the chunder,
You'd better run, you'd better take cover."
The last line was a bit changed. I think it had something to do with sex. Or big feet. Something to do with big feet. Or maybe that's the next verse? Gah! This will be bothering me for ages!
EDIT: I forgot to mention that yes, there is a similar bit with chundering, but our version is a bit more rude. If only I could remember! Damn you, memory!

Well I really wanna knooow, ahh-Ba-beeeee......
Even guitar solo is part of loop-in-head...
I am even walking to the rythym, making bystanders think I have tourettes or something.....
it is sickening.
