Venganza People Google Map
We have so many people here from all over the world that I keep forgetting where most of you are from. I got an idea to make a google map showing everyone's location.
Here it is.
http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?oe=utf-8 ... 075195&z=7
So far it only has me on there. I created this google account just for this purpose so we can all share it and be able to login.
If you want to edit it and add your location, just click on "sign in". The email is "[email protected]" and the password is "flyingspaghettimonster".
Under "my maps" select "Venganza People" and then click edit. Find your location, then click the little blue upside down teardrop in the upper left hand corner. Click on your location, add your name as the title, and give a description if you so choose. You can be as precise or as vague as you choose in giving your location depending on how close you zoom in when you place the teardrop. Be sure to click "log out" when you are done.
This could be a fun way of keeping track of it all, and I hope you guys will join in. If this is popular, perhaps one of the mods will be so kind as to make this thread a sticky.

Re: Venganza People Google Map
I seem to not have a little upside down blue teardrop in the corner. Which is really annoying, because do you know how long google maps takes to load on dial up!? A long time.
I'll try it again some other time, I guess...

Did you click edit first? Or you could just send me your location and I'll add it for you.

I can't find a tear-drop thingy either. But I found something spooky - when I double-clicked on my street it came up with a photo of my house! The photo had the wrong number, but still...

Hmmmm. I just login, click edit, and the little teardrop pops right up.

Re: Venganza People Google Map
Thanks, PG, this time it worked!
Actually, my real home doesn't have a street view - there is a piccy of the local church, but that's it. When I played with the piccy of my street I realised I could turn it round and see the whole thing!
Mind you, it's WELL out of date - the junk cars in the empty lot next door were removed a year ago, there is a previous tenant's car in our driveway but the green car in the garden across the street is still there. I wonder when it last moved?

Re: Venganza People Google Map
I've just had a thought - shouldn't the settings be changed from public to private? Otherwise strange stalker-type people might try to get to us...

If I make it private, you won't be able to see it unless you login.
I dont think it's specific enough for stalkers anyway.

Re: Venganza People Google Map
Well, if I zoom in close enough to my Australian address, I could have put a flag right in my front garden (or even on the roof above any room I choose, and labelled it 'this is my bedroom'...)
How is that not specific enough? It gives the street address, a street view...
I don't get that for the Irish flag (they couldn't be bothered to zoom in on something that is mostly fields!); in fact, the only things around there are a picture of the nearest village church and a video of a tractor four fields away.

Thats why I said you can be as precise or as vague as you choose in giving your location. You can just place the flag over your town as a whole. Thats what I did, and the flag ended up a few blocks from my actual address.

Yeah, I can zoom in right on where my house isn't. It's because my house isn't built yet in that photo.
For safety purposes I'm not going to put it there. But I'll be reasonably close, I guess.
Weee! Maps!
