One of the best concerts I went to was the 2nd time I saw They Might Be Giants in concert. The performances were high-energy and well staged (they did a really, really long pause in the middle of "Older", in the middle of which a bunch of confetti popped out and rained on the crowd, while the band was completely silent and still). The banter was hilarious; they did the first set claiming to be the opening act: the best TMBG cover band ever! "We know all of TMBG's songs! John Flansburgh looks just like John Flansburgh!"
The best, though, was after the encore, the two Johns came out and played, just by themselves, their cover of "New York City," which pretty much is my girlfriend and mine's Song. So we kissed and hugged for most of that show-stopper.
"How is it that hardly any major religion has looked at science and concluded, 'This is better than we thought! The Universe is much bigger than our prophets said, grander, more subtle, more elegant. God must be even greater than we dreamed'? Instead they say, 'No, no, no! My god is a little god, and I want him to stay that way.'" - Carl Sagan
"To doubt everything or to believe everything are two equally convenient solutions; both dispense with the necessity of reflection." - Henri Poincaré
