Oddly enough, the Guide is 34 pages, while Quick Tips is 217 pages. :idiot:

I have a really old hard cover copy of Silas Marner by George (she's really a woman) Elliot.

It's one of those old books that was given to a child for good attendance at church (circa 1914).

On the one hand I love my Ipad and Kindle...but on the other hand there is something gorgeous about a really old book.

Really weird...

A copy of the book 'Good Omens' by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman just suddenly appeared near my desk in the office. I have asked around but nobody owns it.

Started reading it and it is brilliant.

Just re-read Anthony Beevor's book on Stalingrad. It's well worth a look. Beevor shows in detail how one of the people most helpful to the Russians was Hitler with his meddling, while Stalin also went in for a lot of micro-management to the great benefit of the Germans.

Oh I do like a good epic battle...and they don't get much more epic than Stalingrad.

Waterloo is good read as well.

Just a shame it's named after Stalin really who was a total bolshevik.

No...never heard of it. I was very preoccupied in the early nineties and didn't have time to read much.

Finished 1Q84, started in on the second book in the Millennium trilogy.
