It's one of the "I'd Really Rather You Didn'ts", which clearly states that the FSM would really rather we spent the money it would take to construct a church on more useful things, such as helping the poor or funding scientific research.

If someone donates a church to our wondrous religion, then sure, why not? But I don't think most people that own a church would be so willing to donate...

Hi,

I'm new here.

Ontopic:

the 6th I'd rather you didn't says:

I'd really rather you didn't build multi million-dollar churches/temples/mosques/shrines to my noodly goodness when the money could be better spent (take your pick):

1. Ending poverty
2. Curing diseases
3. Living in peace, loving with passion, and lowering the cost of cable
I might be a complex-carbohydrate omniscient being, but I enjoy the simple things in life. I ought to know. I AM the creator.

Indeed, it specifically says when the money could be better spent on something of that list.

I was on Second Life in the weekend and did discover a cathedral there. It was empty and there wasn't much else to see, but I like the idea. Does anyone ever use it?

A Pastafarian cathedral? Or a Christian one?

Maybe it's used because most Christians can't use computers, let alone the Internet.

And in the 6th "I'd Really Rather You Didn't", I'm sure there's room for ambiguity as to what you spend your money on.

Why do we need churches or cathedrals? His Noodely Appendage knows whether we're worshiping him or not anyway, and like said above, the spare money can go to making the world a better place.

Would not Italian restuarants, like the Olive Garden, be obvious sites to make pilgramages to, if you so wish a place to worship at. You can get a full communion dinner. Or a Chinese restaruand, if you get lo mein.

The best, of course, is when a Christian church holds a Speghetti supper...it is like they know subconsciously who they should be really praying to.

Pastafarian cathedral.

There's loads of religious stuff in Second Life by the way, most religions have something over there. I used to be very active in SL but got bored with it a few weeks back.

At my university there's an interfaith chapel, which apparently can be lent out to campus societies. I'm considering starting up a Pastafarian societies and holding porcessions there.

It's not a multi-million dollar one, it looks like this:

I think the whole point of worshipping the FSM is that we can dedicate ourself to a deity without having to go out of our way spending money in His worship.

That way, we can live just as well as those filthy atheists while still knowing that we serve an undisputably real God, who happens to go very well with some bolognaise sauce.

The way I see it, the "rule" is after all a "I'd Really Rather You Didn't", therefore, you could build a church if you wanted, but the FSM would rather you did not. Kind of obvious I know, but there are those who need to be shown things like these, otherwise they would never find them.

Does this mean I am building a FSM Church?
No.

However, I am debating on building a Pirate Ship for recreational use, which would include the occasional Noodle Supper complete with grog and wenches...

well actual it said don't build multi million dollar churches for him

i have my own church in my house and it dint cost me a thing

so actually i dint break an i really rather you dint

smaller churches can be built for 1.9 million dollars or less. i think the P.A.S.T.A. Foundation is working on building a temple for under $1.9 million. https://www.thepastafoundation.org/

Just think how much of a contribution $1.9 million would make to
- Ending Poverty
- Curing Diseases
- Living In Peace, Loving With Passion, And Lowering The Cost Of Cable

which surely would be more in keeping with Pastafarian ideals that a building

A church like this might be interesting to attend. My last experience in an orthodox church prompted me to look for a new religion.

Meeting in a pub or local Hooters in full pirate regalia would be a keen idea as long as each pirate helps out the bar maidens in their fare share of tips. Poor girls can't afford proper fitting clothes.
