NYBB

This is where we confer honor on those who have earned the title of Prophet. Or, where we mock them. One or the other.

Suggestion for new title:

Bait.
"Mit der Dummheit kämpfen Götter selbst vergebens."
("Against stupidity, the gods themselves contend in vain.")
-- Friedrich Schiller (1759–1805)
Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.
-- Philip K Dick

What happens when all the renewable energy runs out?
-- Victoria Ayling

English isn't much of a language for swearing. When I studied Ancient Greek I was delighted to discover a single word - Rhaphanidosthai - which translates roughly as "Be thou thrust up the fundament with a radish for adultery."

Can we please vote to change it? The suggestions are all much more accurate than the one he has right now. And I only read the first page.
Also, what is the post number to obtain prophet? No one is very clear about it, and some people have the titles even though they haven't reached the posts needed?

If memory serves, 3K is the standard minimum. Some forum members have earned a special title with fewer posts through meritorious acts or conduct, and others have failed to earn a title at that threshold due to various unsavory circumstances. Be a good boy and play nice, make friends and don't be obnoxious, and nature will take its course.

I'm not sure what part of my profile you didn't read, but I'm antisocial when it comes to, yaknow, anyone I don't want to talk to. In fact, I have a Jung personality type (yes, I really took the full version, all seventy-something questions of the older, better version) that less than 1% of the population has. You wanna guess who my type gets along with best? People with the same personality type as them.
By the by, have any of you taken the Jung?

EDIT:I just realized that out of context, "Jung" sounds like something dealers give you a free sample of.
The kind of thing that they'll give you and say, "First one's free!".
Five years later, you sell your family so you can meet your dealer's bottom line . . .

Nope. Jung is very accurate, assuming you answer completely honestly. Most people aren't that honest with themselves.
My personality type told me things about myself that I hadn't even realized, but when I checked them against the facts, nothing contradicted it.
I would give you an example, but I'd rather not, that's a bit personal.

I don't see how I could give you a reliability coefficient, considering the nature of personality tests. All I know is that it worked wonderfully for me.
I did have a former friend, however, who tried the test, answered very dishonestly (against all of my warnings that it would royally screw up the results) and got a result that described the exact OPPOSITE of them.

I think it means that Roy has actually studied psychology (and other 'ologies') at a postgraduate level and so does not trust a subjective 'how do you feel' test to generate valid data. The plural of anecdote is not data and all that.

As much as I like to cast aspersions on psychologists making up data and claiming statistical significance from minimal data sets, that almost never happens these days. I'll stick to mocking the evolutionary psychologists :haha:

Okay, I realize that was a bit vague, but that was the intention behind it.
