YO HO, fellow Pastafarians!
My kid's school is having a food drive and I have donated the following items:
1 lb. box of lasagna (only about 12-15 noodles, but they're BIG!)
13.25 oz. box of Penne Rigata (200 noodles?)
3 bags 'Pasta Sides' noodle & sauce mix (450 noodles?)
Sorry, i have no goats to donate. Does this help?

I fear we must abandon goats. They are now being used for genetically modified milk for drugs.

450 g + 375 g + 3 x 150 g (approximate) = 1275 Noodles!

Auntie Dee Dee wrote:From our trip to Sam's Club...dropped at the food bank I used to work at on Friday nights, sorting donations...4 big packs containing 12 one pound packages of spaghetti, so that's 48 pounds of spaghetti, and a case (24 cans) of Hunt's 32 oz Spaghetti Sauce, Roasted Garlic flavor.
Got the meat market across the street to donate 20 gift certificates for 2 pounds of premium ground beef (not cheap grease-laden hamburger, the good stuff) and 10 certificates for a whole fresh chicken. (I got him his 4 big commercial accounts, he remembers that.)
I'll leave it to you guys to figure it out, and to decide whether we get to count the meat market guy's stuff as well. He groks Pastafanarianism but is seriouly involved with his current worship of his chiropractor...
As per previous posts, 450 Noodles/lb x 48 + 900 Noodles/32 oz sauce x 24 = 43200 Noodles!
I throw the meat calculation open for suggestions... what's a chicken weigh these days? Total of 40 lbs of hamburger and 10 chickens.
THANK YOU ALL for renewing interest in the MNM!

Without further info, I'll estimate a chicken at 4 lbs (uncooked).
I've decided to give meat a 2 noodles/g value, since it's difficult to buy either ground beef or whole chicken for less than $2/lb. I suspect Dee Dee's butcher usually charges more.
(40 lb beef + 40 lb chicken) * 454 g/lb * 2 N/g = 72 640 Noodles!

Hey, all.
I found a local grocery store that has a food bank collection bin (still haven't found the local food bank, but that's a whole other thing), so I've joined the March!
Chock me up for:
- spaghetti: qty. 2 x 2.27 kg
- sauce: qty. 1 x 1.8 L

This March is getting dull, one food collection bin after another, can we take a detour for some sight-seeing? (but welcome to boghog who has only seen one so far, is what we need, fresh meat !)

Double post - for emphasis!
Hey! We're a quarter of the way there!
Doc - I'm planning on keeping you busy! Add some more items to the tally board:
- 900 g Linguini, qty-1
- 900 g Penne Rigate, qty-1
- 500 ml (IIRC) sauce, qty-1
Yarr.
Edit: as a lactose-intolerant weirdo, I'm ignorant in the ways of cheese. Does anyone know of a non-perishable (i.e. does not need refrigeration) cheese that is good on pasta that the food bank recipients might like?

Auntie Dee Dee wrote:They do a jarred/canned Parmesan or Romano or blend (Kraft brand is in the cardboard can-looking shakers) that is called 'shakey-cheeze' at my house. Yes, it's powdered and not fresh.
Hrmmm... if that's all that's out there, I may be better off spending my noodle-march dollars on good pasta or sauce. Besides, aren't green cardboard tubes filled with powdered cheese an affront to the eyes of the FSM?

If they'z to carry all them cheesy thangs, they'd have to take out the minnow tank.
You have fresh minnows there? We only have them chilled... in vending machines like soda pop (and worms too - I'm not kidding).

Ahoy!
More saucy booty for the cause!
Read 'em and weep (or cheer, or act indifferent):
- qty-2 x 2.27 kg (5 lbs) spaghetti
- qty-1 x 680 ml sauce
Yarrr!

C'mon, people! Am I the only one paying attention to this any more? Go give away some pasta!!
