My fiancee and I are considering a cruise for our honeymoon. I wonder if Royal Carribean will let me bring my piratical accoutrements on board, or will I have to purchase them in the Bahamas?

Don't forget the infamous (if little known) Captain Bugbeard!

...and never let us forget the infamous Captain Horatio Hornsucker!

Blackbeard had a penchant for placimg lit inscence sticks or something of the like in his hair during a pillage or boarding,it made for excellelent theatrics and unnerved many who faced his cutlasses.
I should think him the epitome of pirate,Henry Morgan was a bit to educated and political to fit the classic pirate mold of dirt, drunkeness and barbaric, savage, ignorant cruelty.

Jean Lafitte was a gentleman pirate. Not all pirates were dirty rotten scoundrels. Some were clean, and very urbane scoundrels.

Gene Simmons was a pirate? I though he was a bass player for KISS, and a bad actor.

My noble ancestor Jean Lafitte was a pirate.
He was not the long tongued rocker Gene Simmons of Kiss.
Nor was he Richard Simmons (aka cinamon) of exercise video and flamboyant ambiguity fame.
ANd if any of you lubbers insinnuate that me pirate kin are such flipping flitty lubbers again, I will have the lot of you marrooned on Manhattan Island wearing nothing but 23 dollars worth of beads!

Thank you Labrat,i am corrected, forgot about Lafitte as i search my memory,a daunting task these days as my filing cabinet is full and any new information deletes old.
I seem to recall other honourable pirates but names escape me,also two females come to mind, one being Anne Bonny and another captured but won repreive from the noose for being pregnant.
Oh yes,Qwerty has picked Sam and i must agree, the search is over.

Captain Morgan was my great several times uncle.
He's the basis for Captain Hook, too, you know, and was one of the first people ever to sue someone who wrote a defamatory unauthorized bibliography and win.
<-see, if you knew what I looked like you'd see the uncanny resemblance.
